Inside, the home opens to expansive views of Wanaka’s surrounding mountains, with high ceilings and warm timber flooring creating a sense of openness and retreat. The living spaces feel both dramatic and intimate, where natural light, texture, and scale work together to shape a calm alpine atmosphere. Bathrooms feature textured and tonal finishes, adding subtle richness while maintaining durability within the home’s architectural palette. A colour drenched mezzanine provides a flexible retreat, offering an elevated space that can adapt to work, relaxation, or guest accommodation.

Externally, dark cedar shiplap is paired with plaster cladding and ribbed metal roofing to create a robust architectural form suited to Wanaka’s conditions. During construction, Wanaka’s winter inversion layer slowed plaster drying times. This was anticipated during planning and carefully managed with additional heating and dehumidification, ensuring the build remained on schedule. The result is a home defined by considered detailing, strong architectural form, and craftsmanship that responds to its environment.
