Situated in Hanley’s Farm, Queenstown, 22 Shelduck Road is a refined showcase of Crampton & Smith’s design and build expertise. Completed in 2025, this project offered the team a unique opportunity to craft a home that exemplifies natural materiality, technical precision, and comfort suited to an alpine setting.

Polished concrete floors, a schist feature wall, and cedar-lined interiors establish a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects the surrounding landscape. The home features zoned underfloor heating and a ducted heat pump system, efficiently maintaining year-round comfort. Above the garage, a reimagined office space captures panoramic views of Jack’s Point Golf Course and the Remarkables, with an added skylight that frames the mountain peaks and draws in abundant natural light. The property also features an additional one-bedroom flat with a mezzanine, offering adaptable living or guest accommodation, with mirror-tinted glazing for privacy and uninterrupted views.
As both client and builder, Crampton & Smith refined each element of the home throughout construction. The process allowed for considered decisions that elevated both the function and design of the home. The completed residence is a personal project for the team. An opportunity to showcase Crampton & Smith’s hallmark balance of craftsmanship and technical detailing, set against a backdrop of one of New Zealand’s most dramatic landscapes.
